How Renidy makes money — and why it matters
The funeral industry has a conflict-of-interest problem. Many “comparison” and “free help” services are paid by the providers they recommend — which means their financial incentive is not aligned with yours. This page explains exactly how Renidy is different.
The short version
Families pay Renidy a flat fee for concierge service ($89, $499, or $2,499).
Funeral homes do not pay Renidy to be recommended, listed, or referred to. Zero.
Renidy does not own funeral homes or have financial interests in any provider.
The doula platform is free for practitioners. Revenue share on referred clients is disclosed in their doula agreement.
Why most “free help” isn't free
In elder care, insurance, and funeral planning, many services that advertise themselves as “free to families” are actually funded by provider referral fees. The same model dominates online funeral comparison sites: they earn revenue when families click through to a funeral home that paid for placement — not because that home was the best match.
This creates a structural problem. If a comparison service earns $200 when you choose Provider A but $0 when you choose Provider B (who might be better for your situation), the service has a financial incentive to show you Provider A first. Families rarely know this is happening.
How Renidy is structured differently
Renidy charges families a flat, one-time concierge fee. Our concierge earns the same amount regardless of which funeral home you choose, whether you choose cremation or burial, and whether you pick the most expensive or least expensive option. There is no financial upside for us in steering you toward any particular provider.
We want you to choose the provider that is best for your family, your budget, and your values — because that is the only way Renidy builds a reputation worth having.
Our business model is closer to a fee-only financial advisor than to a lead-gen business. The fee you pay is the whole transaction.
Our concierge fees
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Intro Concierge | $89 | 1-hour consultation, options overview, personalized checklist |
| Standard Concierge | $499 | Full provider comparison, cost analysis, case support up to 3 weeks |
| All-Handled Concierge | $2,499 | Complete end-to-end case management, all coordination handled |
These fees cover Renidy's services only. Funeral home, cemetery, and vital records fees are billed separately by those providers. Full pricing details →
Common questions
Is Renidy free?
A free 15-minute intake call is always available. Beyond that, Renidy charges families a flat concierge fee ($89, $499, or $2,499 depending on the level of service). There is no hidden fee. The doula platform is free for death doulas and planners.
Does Renidy take a commission from funeral homes?
No. Renidy does not receive referral commissions, placement fees, or any other payment from funeral homes, crematories, or cemeteries. Our recommendations are based entirely on price, quality, and fit for your family's needs.
Why does this matter?
Many referral services in elder care and funeral planning are compensated by providers — which creates an incentive to recommend whoever pays the highest commission rather than who is best for the family. Renidy's model eliminates that conflict.
Does Renidy own any funeral homes?
No. Renidy is a technology and concierge platform, not a funeral home operator. We do not have financial interests in any funeral home, crematory, or cemetery we recommend.
What about the doula platform — is that truly free?
The Renidy practitioner platform is free for certified death doulas and end-of-life professionals. We make money on family-side concierge fees, not from doulas paying subscriptions. When a Renidy-referred family works with a doula, a revenue-share applies per the doula agreement — that amount is disclosed in the agreement.
